Terms of Service

1. Who can use RACE

• You must be 18 or older and able to form a binding contract under Indian law. We ask for your date of birth at signup to check this and do not store it.
• You may not use RACE if the law where you live prohibits it, or if we closed a previous account of yours for breaking these terms.
• If you use RACE for a university, lab or employer, you confirm you may accept these terms for that use. A separate written agreement with an institution takes priority where it differs.

2. Your account

• Give accurate details and keep them up to date. One account is for one person; do not share it.
• Keep your password and sign-in methods secure. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it happened because of our failure.
• Tell us at support@raceai.tech straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

3. Your content

• You own what you put into RACE (questions, files, papers, data, code, notes) and what RACE produces for you, to the extent the law allows.
• You give us a limited permission to store, copy, process and send your content only to run RACE for you: answering requests, searching, compiling, running code, backups and security. It ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups that expire on their normal schedule.
• We do not use your content to train AI models, and the business terms we use with our AI providers do not allow them to train on it.
• You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, and that doing so does not break a licence, a confidentiality duty or privacy law.

4. Shared projects

• The owner of a project decides who can view or edit it. Anything you add to a shared project can be seen, copied and exported by its members.
• If you leave or are removed, your contributions stay in the project. If an owner deletes their account, ownership passes to an editor (or, if there is none, a viewer) who stays; a project with no other members is deleted.

5. AI output

• RACE uses AI models from other companies. Their output can be wrong, incomplete, out of date or biased, and can misread or mis-cite a source. Check important claims against the cited sources before you rely on them.
• RACE is a research tool. It does not give medical, legal, financial, safety or other professional advice.
• You are responsible for how you use output, including following your institution's and publishers' rules on AI use, disclosing AI assistance where required, and crediting sources. RACE cannot be listed as an author.
• Similar questions can produce similar output for other people; output is not guaranteed to be unique.

6. Code, agents and automation

Code you or RACE runs executes in an isolated sandbox with time, size and network limits. You are responsible for code you ask RACE to run and for its results. In Ask mode RACE proposes file changes for your approval; in Automate mode it may change project files directly. Deleted items stay in Trash for 30 days.

7. Acceptable use

You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In short: no illegal, harmful or infringing use; no research misconduct; no attacks on RACE or other people; no getting around limits, and no reselling RACE without our written permission.

8. Third-party sources

RACE searches public scholarly services such as OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, arXiv, Crossref, Europe PMC, CORE and Unpaywall, and downloads only open-access PDFs. Papers remain the property of their authors and publishers and are subject to their licences. Links to other sites are not endorsements.

9. Copyright complaints

If you believe content in RACE infringes your copyright, email support@raceai.tech with your name and contact details, the work, where it appears in RACE, and a statement that you own or represent the rights and that the information is accurate. We act on valid notices promptly, normally within 36 hours, may remove or disable the content, and tell the person who added it. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.

10. Plans, credits, trials and payment

• Plans. Free, Lite and Pro plans include the monthly credits shown in Plans & Billing. Plan credits renew each billing month and unused plan credits do not carry over unless the app says otherwise.
• Credits. Each request uses credits according to the model and the amount of work, as shown in the app. Top-up credits are valid for 365 days from purchase. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and are refunded only under our Refunds policy or where the law requires.
• Free trial. Where offered, a trial lasts 30 days with the credits shown at checkout, and one trial is allowed per person. You set up a card or UPI AutoPay mandate when it starts. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your plan renews at the monthly price shown at checkout on the date shown there, and every month after that until you cancel. We email you about 3 days before the first charge.
• Payment. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which may act as the seller of record and appear on your statement, or by Razorpay for older subscriptions. Prices include applicable taxes unless shown otherwise. If a payment fails we may move you to the Free plan; your content is kept.
• Price changes. We tell you at least 14 days before a price increase affects your next renewal, and you can cancel before it does.
• Promotional codes are personal, have the conditions shown when issued, and may not be sold.

11. Cancellation and refunds

Cancel any time in Settings, then Plans & Billing; your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds follow our Refunds and cancellation policy, including a full refund if you ask within 7 days of your first charge.

12. Your own API keys

If you add your own provider API key, that provider's terms and charges apply to requests made with it.

13. Beta features and changes to RACE

Features marked Beta or Preview may change, break or be removed. We may change models, sources and features to improve RACE. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, you can cancel and ask for a pro-rata refund.

14. Suspension and closing your account

• You can download your data and delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion happens 7 days after you ask, so you can change your mind; any plan or trial is cancelled straight away.
• We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, puts others at risk, or does not pay. We tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it, and you can reply to the Grievance Officer.
• If we close your account or RACE for reasons other than your breach, we give at least 30 days' notice and a way to export your work, and refund unused prepaid amounts.

15. Disclaimers

RACE is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it fits a particular purpose, or that its output will be accurate.

16. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data you did not keep elsewhere, or decisions made on AI output, and our total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim or ₹1,000. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or gross negligence, anything else that cannot legally be limited, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

17. Indemnity

You will cover our reasonable losses and costs from a third-party claim caused by content you uploaded without the right to do so, or by your breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.

18. Changes to these terms

We tell you about material changes by email and in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, and ask you to accept them. If you do not accept, you can cancel and delete your account; unused prepaid time is refunded.

19. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact the Grievance Officer (Rishwi Thimmaraju, support@raceai.tech) first; most problems are solved by email. If not, the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have jurisdiction, without affecting your right to approach a consumer commission.

20. General

These terms, the policies they link to and any order form are the whole agreement between us. If a part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them to our incorporated company or a successor and will tell you. Neither of us is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
